Roberto Guzman Signs with Warner Pacific

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - June 8th, 2026

Portland, Ore.| The Warner Pacific Knights men's soccer program is excited to announce the addition of junior transfer Roberto Guzman for the upcoming season.

A native of Lynden, Washington, Guzman joins the Knights after a successful athletic and academic journey that has seen him emerge as one of the top midfield talents from Northwest Washington. He attended Meridian High School, where he played soccer for a couple of seasons and quickly made his mark as a dynamic offensive player.

Despite a relatively short high school soccer career, Guzman compiled an impressive list of accomplishments. He earned Northwest Conference (NWC) First Team All-Conference honors three times, was named the NWC Offensive League MVP, and garnered Second Team All-State recognition as a midfielder. His ability to create scoring opportunities, control the pace of play, and impact matches from the midfield made him one of the region's most respected players.

Following high school, Guzman continued his soccer career at Whatcom Community College, where he competed from 2023 through 2025. During his two years at the collegiate level, he continued to refine his game and gain valuable experience that will help prepare him for the challenges of Cascade Collegiate Conference competition.

Head Coach Troy Ready is excited about the intelligence and vision Guzman will bring to the center of the field.

"Roberto possesses an immense knowledge for the game which he is already implementing as a coach," Ready said. "His tactical awareness and understanding of space will serve him well as he dictates play from the center of the field."

At Warner Pacific, Guzman plans to pursue a degree in accounting. His attention to detail, discipline, and strong work ethic on the field translate naturally into his academic ambitions as he prepares for a future career in business and finance.

When he's not playing soccer or studying, Guzman enjoys spending time outdoors. One of his favorite summer activities is riding quads and going tubing with friends and family, making the most of the Pacific Northwest's warm-weather months.

The Knights are thrilled to welcome Guzman to the Warner Pacific family and look forward to the leadership, creativity, and experience he will bring to the midfield. His decorated background and proven ability to perform at a high level make him an exciting addition to the program as the Knights prepare for the upcoming season.
