Caldwell, ID. | Warner Pacific faced off in the last match of the 2019 season on Sunday morning against the Yotes of College of Idaho. The Knights were defeated 0-3 in the match.
Â
Much like what's been the story for the Knights all season, majority of the match's goals came within the same 20-minute block. The first and second goals came in the 15
th and 30
th minute. Heading into the break, the Knights trailed 0-2. Just two minutes into the half, the Yotes scored the final goal of the match to seal the 3-0 victory off a corner kick flick.
Â
For the latter half of the last 45, the Knights' defense composed themselves and kept the Yotes out of the net to close out the season.
Â
Again, like Saturday's match, the Knights allowed 30+ shots. 33 to be exact, with 17 of them being on target.
Â
For the second match in a row,
Alyssa Guthrie managed to tally 14 saves, matching her career-high, met just the night before.
Â
Despite the poor outcome, the season ended on a high note for the Sophomore keeper.
Â
The Knights will head into the off-season and recruiting season with high hopes to have Coach
Josh Westermann's first recruiting class be the beginning of building a winning program.
