Women's Soccer Falls 1-3 in Last Exhibition Match Before Conference Play

Lacey, WA. | Warner Pacific traveled to Lacey, Washington to face the NCAA DII St. Martin's University Saints in an Exhibition match Thursday afternoon.

The Knights held the Saints scoreless in the first 45 minutes and were the first to find the back of the net with a goal by Sr. Ashley Giesbers from the middle of the box. It was the first goal of the season for the Knights.

After a very strong first half by the Knights defense, it seemed they lost their gas and ended up giving up 3 quick goals to the Saints, all  within twelve minutes, (48', 58', 61').

The Saints launched 34 shots on Thursday night, leaving 12 on goal versus the three shots the Knights fired, all being on goal.

Knights Sophomore Keeper Alyssa Guthrie had herself a game, with nine saves on 12 shots on goal.

The Knights head to Billings, Montana to open up Cascade Collegiate Conference play next Sunday, September 22 against Rocky Mountain College. The match is set for 12:00 PM.
