Knights Bring Home a Win on Senior Night

Portland, Ore. | The Warner Pacific Men's and Women's Wrestling teams played hosted Grays Harbor College Tuesday for an exhibition dual meet that recognized the team's seniors.

On the Women's side Taj Vierra highlighted to night by putting together a 2-0 performance at 143 pounds. Vierra dominated her first match with a 10-0 technical fall in 2:10. In her second match, the senior brought the crowd to their feet and put a cap to her Knights' career at the C.C. Perry Gymnasium when she came back from trailing 8-0 in the second round and applied a decisive headlock to her opponent to secure the win by fall in 4:37.

On the Men's side, Senior Alvaro Venegas put up an impressive performance of his own. Venegas closed out the night with a win by fall in 2:24 at 285 pounds.

Additionally, Juan Vallejo picked up a 6-2 decision at 285 pounds and Zach Sais continued his winning ways with a victory by fall in 2:53 at 157 pounds.

The Knights will travel to La Grande, OR Saturday to compete in a double dual against Eastern Oregon University and North Idaho College. Match time is scheduled for 12pm.
