Portland, Ore.| Warner Pacific women's soccer hosted the Linfield Wildcats on a beautiful Saturday at Eastside Timbers Athletic Complex in a game that ended in a 0-0 draw.
Both sides came out hot to start, with each team testing the other with passes behind defenders and shots to follow. Despite the early aggression, the game remained scoreless at the end of the first half.
The second half saw Linfield control possession much more than in the first half. The possession turned into opportunity as the Wildcats shot the ball 7 times in the second half. Knights freshman goalkeeper Katie Pomerinke was up to the task all throughout the game however, coming up with 4 saves to earn her second shutout of the season.
Defensive highlights were not limited to Pomerinke however, as defender Brianna Beuck made an outstanding slide in the second half to prevent the Wildcats from scoring.
Overall it was another strong showing from the Knights as they continue to prepare for conference games.
With this draw the Knights are now 1-1-1 on the season. The Knights are in action again at Eastside Timbers Athletic Complex against the Pacific University Boxers on Tuesday, September 6th at 7 PM
