Portland, Ore. | The Knights Women's Basketball squad expected to come out and win tonight and they met those expectations winning 52-43 to secure the first win of the season.

The Knights started the game out a little slow going 2-16 from the field in the first quarter including 4 free throws for a total of 8 points in the period. Alexa Mee off the bench was a beast on the boards getting 14 of them in just 23 minutes of work averaging .61 rebounds every minute she was on the floor. Her rebounding contributions mixed with her 4 points made her the Chick-Fil-A Player of the Game.

"This was an amazing feeling to start the new season 1-0," Head Coach Jimmy Smith said. "We had key contributions off the bench both offensively and defensively as well as the starters contributing big time in late possessions to seal the win." This win not only marks Jimmy Smith's first win as the headman for the Knights but it also marks his first win as a college basketball coach.
