The Knights Pick Up a Huge Win In Great Falls

Great Falls, MT
On a breezy and sunny 50 degree day in Great Falls, Montana, the Knights (2-23) took on the University of Providence Argos (3-21).

Game One
The Knights took it to the Argos for a final score of 10-2 in this one. The Knights scored in every inning except for the 1st and 4th on route to a very impressive win. Warner pounded out 14 hits to get their 10 runs. Five Knights had two hits on the day which included Ashley Hawkins, Jordyn Rosario, Emma Foster, Jovita Laloulu, and Christina Barrett. Only one Knight went hitless in the first game which is a testament to just how well Warner hit as a team.

The second inning was particularly impressive for the Knights scoring four runs on three hits with the help of two errors in the frame. Picking up RBI's in the inning were Christina Barrett (double), Jordyn Rosario (single), and Marin Bliss (single). The third run of the inning came in on an error by the Argos second baseman allowing Emma Foster to reach first.

In the top half of the fifth inning, there were some major fireworks when Christina Barrett, who already had a RBI double, hit a big blast to right field for a two run homer increasing the lead to 7-2.

Carrigan Foster pitched for the Knights today and was absolute nails throwing a complete game while only allowing two run which both were unearned. She only gave up two hits, walked two, and struck out eight Argos. Carrigan will not want to leave that Rocky Mountain air after a day at the office like that.

Head coach Ashton Porter knows how important it is to get that second win. "The girls were able to find their rhythm today and a lot of people were starting to shine. We have been working on controlling our game and using the teams momentum moving forward. Our confidence was found this weekend and will be something we continue to take with us the rest of the season."

Game Two
The Knights fell in game two by a score of 11-2 in five innings. Ashley Hawkins and Jordyn Rosario continued their hot hitting picking up two more hits each. Carrigan Foster, Emma Foster, and Christina Barrett also checked in with a hit bringing the total to seven for the day.

Ashley Hawkins, second up in the third inning, knocked a triple with the hopes of starting a rally. The Argos obliged with a wild pitch which allowed Hawkins to scoot in from third. The Knights scored their second run in the top of the 5th when Carrigan Foster came in on a throwing error.

Next Up
The Knights take on the same Argos tomorrow at 10am and 12pm in Great Falls, Montana.
