The Knights Lose to 5th Ranked Corban

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – September 1st, 2023

Salem, OR. | The Warner Pacific Women's volleyball team lost in three sets tonight against nationally ranked number five, Corban University at Tim Hills Court.

The Knights had a tough time getting things going against a very talented Corban team losing each set by scores of 25-14, 25-9, and 25-4 respectively. Corban's, Rylee Troutman, who was named as the NAIA National Attacker of the Week last week lived up to the hype racking up 13 more kills tonight with an impressive .857 attack percentage.

The Knights were led in kills by Izzy Moore who had five followed by Elizabeth Reid who had 4. Kyla Reiling racked up the assists getting 7 of those.

The Knights are a team with a ton of potential. They show a lot of signs of what they can be. The first set tonight really showed that as they stood tall and played a very close first half of the set. At one point in the first set, the Knights were only down 12-4 which against a team ranked as high as Corban should be considered solid progress for a young Knights squad.

Head Coach, Kim Lissinna, knows her team has serious potential but also knows that potential can be a positive as well as a negative. "Potential is a powerful thing," Lissinna said. "It can either strengthen you with courage or cripple you with fear."

The Knights will fall to 0-8 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

Next Up
