Portland, Ore.| In a thrilling last match, the Warner Pacific Women's Soccer team took on Oregon Tech and came up short losing 4-2.
The match between Oregon Tech and Warner Pacific was an exciting match to close the season out. Oregon Tech struck first in the 24th minute with Claire Cowan scoring on assists from Sydney Soskis and Raeah Raymondo to give the Owls an early lead. Warner Pacific responded quickly, with
Kiya Gramps finding the back of the net in the 35th minute assisted by
Jenessis Cortes. After the break, Warner Pacific took the lead again when
Payton Ashley scored in the 48th with assistance from
Jordan McLeod, to take the lead.
Oregon Tech fought back in the second half, scoring multiple times. In the 55th minute, Ryane Mattox scored with help from Jaylee Curran, bringing the score to 2-2. The Owls then dominated with two more goals, starting with Sydney Soskis in the 75th minute assisted by Alejandra Salcedo followed by Maegan Cooper's goal in the 76th minute. Despite Warner Pacific's efforts to narrow the gap, Oregon Tech's offensive efforts paid off, resulting in a final score of 4-2 in their favor. In an intense match with a total of 26 shots and 13 saves, this was a great season Finale.
