FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – March 1st, 2026
Milwaukie, Ore.| Warner Pacific Knights Baseball finished their four-game series against 21st ranked Lewis-Clark State College and lost both games despite tough battles. The final scores were 5-3 and 10-4 in favor of the Warriors.
Game Three
Lewis-Clark State scored first in a big way with a three-run homer in the second inning and added another run in the third on a defensive error to take control 4–0. Warner Pacific answered in the fourth with their own solo home run to get the Knights on the board and then pulled closer in the sixth with a clutch two out two-run double to cut the lead to 5–3. However, the comeback ended there as the Warriors' bullpen shut the door over the final innings.
Offensively, Warner Pacific showed flashes with multi-hit games from
Connor Hale who went 2-4,
Mitchell Thoma-Britt going 2-4,
Donny Tober going 2-4 with a home run, and
Colin Schiller going 1-4 with two RBIs. The lineup struggled to maintain pressure. On the mound,
Hank Kern kept the game close through five innings despite the early three run homer while
Jaxon Hamada provided solid relief work to keep the Knights within striking distance, throwing three innings giving up an earned run with five strikeouts. Finally
Kaden Hindman logged a clean inning.
Game four
This game was tight through the first three innings, but in the fourth Lewis-Clark State got it going with a four-run inning fueled by RBI singles and aggressive baserunning. The Warriors then poured on five more runs in the fifth to extend the lead to 8–0. Warner Pacific got in the scoring category in the fifth with a big two run hit. The Knights would later go back to back innings in the seventh and the eighth with solo home runs, but LC State's lead proved too large to overcome.
Offensively, the Knights were led by
Mitchell Thoma-Britt's two-RBI knock and the late home runs from
Mason Deverna and
Donny Tober. It was Tober's second home run of the day and Deverna's second in as many days. On the mound, the Knights were hurt by a tough fourth inning that shifted momentum and a three-run fifth that widened the gap. Multiple pitchers worked in relief. All together the pitching staff gave up nine earned runs and five strikeouts.
Next Up
It was a tough weekend for the Knights but an improvement from last week. The Knights get a chance to work on things this Tuesday in a non-conference game against Willamette University. This game will be held at Roto-Rooter field game time at 6pm.
