Caldwell, ID.| Warner Pacific Knights Baseball played their last two games against the College of Idaho today and couldn't complete the series win, losing both games. Final scores 5-3, 7-6.
Game Three
Low-scoring game in this one, both sides just slowly chipping away, ultimately the Yotes coming home with the victory. COI would score first in the first with a run and would add another in the second. The Knights would answer in the third, scoring a run of their own and another in the fourth on a home run. Scoring would quiet down but the Knights would score in the eighth and tie the game. The final blow would be a two-run home run from the Yotes in the eighth to get the win.
Offensively, the Knights had eight hits in this game and were in this one all the way to the end. Cesar Rodriguez was the leader, going two for four with an RBI and a home run. Both Trenten Lowe and Landon Sigler would secure two hits, and Anthony Zisa would come in and cash in with an RBI on a hit. And finally, Collin Schiler would also have an RBI. On the mound for the Knights, Donny Tober would throw seven innings with three runs on six strikeouts. Kaden Hindman would pitch the final inning despite securing the first two outs, but would give up two earned runs and take the loss.
Game Four
The Knights would get it started in this game on a home run and then would score a second run in that same inning. COI would also get there first run on a home-run in the second. A tight game until the fifth, in the bottom half, the Yotes would explode for six runs. Down to their final our the Knights would get something going as they went on to score three runs in the top of the seventh, and with the pitching keeping them in, the Knights were in this ballgame. In the ninth, the Knights would come up short, only scoring one run, taking the second loss of the day.
Offensively, Lowe would lead this game, going two for three and getting that early home run with an RBI. Rodriguez and Jarrod Seibel would both secure an RBI on a hit. Tober would come in to pinch hit and get the job done with an RBI on a hit. Giovanny Alvillar was also ready to go off the bench with an RBI, and to round up the hitting, Schiller will have two hits in this one. The knights ended this game with eight hits and six runs. On the mound, Mason Deverna would get the start in this and would get hit around, pitching four and a third innings, allowing seven runs with four strikeouts. Brooks Frere would give the Knights a chance, pitching three and two-thirds innings, allowing no runs.
Next Up
The Knights will once again be on the road and head up to Canada. They will be facing the University of British Columbia in a four-game series. This series starts on Saturday, and game one will be at one pm. All games will be played at the Tourmaline West Stadium.
