Biography

Elton comes from Paramount, Compton, CA where he ran for Coach Palmer at Alta Loma High School.  He spent his first two years at Warner Pacific College before transferring to Portland State University where us used his red shirt year before becomming a Knight once more. 

At Alta Loma Elton was a sprint specialist with PRs of 10.83 (windy...11.20 wind legal) in the 100m, 22.51 in the 200m, and 51.63 in the 400m.  Elton has never ran Cross Country until this current season.

As a freshman at Warner Pac he ran 11.23 in the 100m, 22.57 in the 200m, 49.88 in the 400m, and a 2:05 in the 800m.   He ended up placing 8th, 5th, and 7th in the Cascade Conference in the 100m, 200m, and 400m respectively while also placing 2nd as a member of the 4x100m Relay.  Elton finished his season as a part of the 4x400m Relay that won the Cascade Conference and placed 11th in the NAIA National Championships.

As a Sophomore Elton made great strides, increasing his times to 10.95 in the 100m, 21.97 in the 200m, and 49.67 in the 400m (with a sub-49 split in the relay).  Elton placed 4th in the Conference in both the 100m and 200m while also placing 7th as part of the 4x400m Relay and 2nd on the 4x100m Relay.  The 4x100m Relay went on to place 5th in it's prelim round at Nationals.

Elton's family includes his sister Kimberly Cody who attended CSUSB, brother Benjamin Mauro who went to PCC, his Granny Violet Young, and his surrogate parents Barbara and Lou Young.
