2012 will be Oscar Monteblanco's third season as head coach of the Knights.
Monteblanco arrived at WP from Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Ore. His two season stint for the Storm includes a NWAACC Southern Division Championship and Final Four appearance in 2009. His team finished with a 15-2-1 record, after which he was selected to coach the NWAACC South/North All-Stars.
Previous stops include two years at Valley Catholic High School, where he led the girl’s soccer team to a league championship and 4A State semifinal appearance in 2007. He was named 4A Coach of the Year after guiding the program to 16-1-1 record.
From 2001-05 he was head boys coach at North Marion High School. He led the program to three state playoff appearances and an overall record of 35-7-6. He also spent four years as head girls coach at Molalla High School, where his overall record was 31-9-8 and led the program to three state playoff appearances.
Monteblanco is the founder and President of Multicultural High School Soccer League. Formed in 1998, the organization has made a significant difference in the lives of over 1000 economically disadvantaged urban youth in Oregon.
Oscar is currently involved with the Olympic Development Program in Oregon as coach of the ’95 Boys. In addition, he has coached with several clubs in the area including Cascade Futbol Club, Southside Soccer Club, and Tualatin Hills United Soccer Club.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Lima in Lima, Peru in 1983.
