Dave Lee

A long-time fixture in the athletic department at Warner Pacific, Dave Lee has guided the Knight cross country and track & field program since their inception in 2000.

Starting from scratch, coach Lee has recruited and developed 19 NAIA or NCCAA All-Americans, 5 National Championship performers, and 29 NAIA Scholar-Athletes in 10 years as head coach. 53 total athletes have placed in the top 16 nationally under his leadership.

While giving up the cross country position in 2009, coach Lee is leading the track & field program to greater heights as the men's team placed a best ever 3rd place at the CCC Championships in 2010.

Prior to his time at Warner Pacific, Lee coached for many years at the high school level in Oregon. He started at Prairie City HS in 1970, then moved on to Hermiston HS where he coached from 1973-78. He is well known in Oregon high school coaching circles for his successful leadership of the track program at Oregon City HS from 1979-2001.

Coach Lee earned his B.S. in Biology from Seatlle Pacific University where he was a four-year letter winner in hurdles, and also competed in decathalon and relays. He received his Masters in Science Education from Oregon State University in 1976.

Coach Lee continues to be an ambassador of Track & Field in the state of Oregon, serving as an elected member of the NAIA Ouotdoor games Committee from 2012-2015 and the chairman of the USATF Oregon Open Track & Field Committee every year since 1979.

Dave grew up in Rogue River, Ore. where he was a two-time district champion in the high hurdles and a state qualifier in the 4 x 200 relay.
