My name is Jeff Perrault, and I am the Head Coach for the Warner Pacific Knights women’s basketball team. I am delighted to lead this program and would like to share a bit about myself, my background, and my values as a basketball coach.
My coaching philosophy revolves around the belief thatbasketball is a powerful tool for inspiring, encouraging, and building confidence in our players. I firmly believe that a positive and safe sporting environment is essential for a successful basketball experience. While winning is undoubtedly a goal, I prioritize player development, mastering the fundamentals, and imparting valuable life lessons that sports naturally teach us. I emphasize the importance of process over results, always placing the team first.
Here’s what you can expect from our culture:
-
- The 3 Fs: We adopt a firm, fair, and fun approach to the game. Enthusiasm and industriousness are our cornerstones, and we value deeds over words. Conditions may change, but our standards remain the same. Mudita, the practice of delighting in others’ happiness and well-being, will be at the heart of our team philosophy. I prefer taking a transformationalcoaching approach rather than a transactional one.
-
- Growth Mindset: Mistakes are a natural part of learning; it's how you respond that truly matters. I expect maximum effort and a competitive spirit, but we will always focus on what we did right to fill each other’s emotional tanks. Instead of dwelling on what went wrong, we prioritize what we accomplished.
-
- Honoring the Game: We strictly adhere to the R.O.O.T.S. principle: Respect for the Rules, Officials, Opponents, Teammates, and most importantly Self.
