Northwest Christian Sweeps Warner Pacific

PORTLAND, Ore. - Northwest Christian avenged an earlier home loss to Warner Pacific with a 3-0 sweep of the Knights in Cascade Conference volleyball action in Portland tonight.

Sets one and two were close, back and forth contests with 26 tie scores and 9 lead changes. The visiting Beacons pulled away late in each frame to win the first 25-21, and the second 25-19. The final set was NCU from start to finish as they jumped out to a 7-1 lead, and held off a charge from the Knights to win 25-19 and secure the victory.

The Beacons used a season high hitting percentage of .316 to frustrate the Knights. WPC managed a .102 attacking rate and had 31 total kills compared to 41 from Northwest Christian. Cassie Bishop was the main culprit for NCU (6-16 2-12 CCC) with 12 kills versus just 1 error. Cori Wallace had a game high 29 assists.

Warner Pacific (4-15, 2-11 CCC) was led by Marissa Towry with 7 kills. Sam Kolakowski added 6 kills and a match high 12 digs.
