Box Score LAGRANDE, Ore. - The Warner Pacific volleyball team was swept 3-0 at Eastern Oregon tonight in LaGrande 25-13, 25-18, 25-16.
In set one the Knights fell behind 7-2 and never recovered, committing 10 hitting errors in the frame.
WP put a scare into the host Mountaineers in the second set despite falling behind early. The Knights closed to within 21-18, but EOU scored the final four points to win 25-18.
Set three was close and saw the score tied four times, the last one at 9-9. Warner Pacific trailed just 15-13 after a Mountie hitting error, but EOU closed out the set with a 10-3 run to win the match.
The Knights were plagued once again by attacking woes, hitting for a .067 percentage (23 kills, 16 errors). Emily Damschen was the most efficient hitter with 8 kills versus only one error. Whitney Valenta led WP defensively with 13 digs, and Kristina Naff was big at the net with one solo block and three block assists.
Three Mountaineers swung for double digit kills, led by Irene Walters with 12.
