Trisha Durham
Box Score EUGENE, Ore. – The Northwest Christian University women's soccer team allowed a game-tying goal with 37 seconds left in regulation only to come back with the game-winner with 13 seconds remaining in overtime as they defeated Warner Pacific College 3-2 in Cascade Collegiate Conference action on Friday afternoon.

The Beacons improve to 4-3 in CCC action and 6-7-1 overall, tying the school win record, set in 2007. Warner Pacific drops to 1-11, 0-6 in conference. Warner Pacific out-shot NCU 10-6 and collected 11 corner kicks to just a pair for the Beacons.

The Knights scored the games' first goal in the 34th minute. A foul in the box gave WPC the penalty kick, which was successfully converted by Trisha Durham. Warner Pacific would then cruise into the second half with a 1-0 lead.

NCU needed just eight minutes into the second half to tie the game when a perfectly placed cross from the corner by Melyssa Weber drew the keeper off the line, leaving an open seam for Jacque Bundtrock to punch it home. The Beacons took their first lead of the game just seven minutes later when a Brianne Lagumina pass sliced through the defense to a wide open Stevie Harrison. Harrison drilled home the ten-yard strike to give NCU the 2-1 advantage. Then, in the final minute, a scrum in the box led to a deflection and a strike by Durham for her second score of the game. Molly Klinkhammer registered the assist on the play.

NCU went on to take the only shot of overtime with just 13 seconds to go as an Amanda Sunthonlap flick found Mishayla Bertelsen for the game-winning 15-yard strike.
