PORTLAND, Ore. – Warner Pacific held Oregon Tech to 35 percent shooting en route to a 61-56 victory over the Owls tonight at
Bart Valentine Court.
The host Knights (10-4, 3-1 CCC) had to overcome 19 turnovers to earn the win, and did so thanks to a 17 to 8 advantage in free throws made and by forcing 17 Owl turnovers. OIT dropped their 4th CCC game in a row with the result, the first 4 game slide in conference play for OIT since the 1995-96 season.
The run of play favored Oregon Tech (10-7, 1-4 CCC) in the early action. An 8-0 run by the Owls gave the visitors a 17-9 lead and forced WP to call timeout to regroup. The Knights rallied to tie the score at 26-26 on a
Marcus Moore jump shot, but later a Derek Evans basket sent OIT into the locker rooms with a 28-27 lead.
In the second period, Oregon Tech had every intention of claiming a road win and led 41-37 with 11:41 to play. A 9-3 run at that point capped by a
Marcus Moore trey gave Warner Pacific the lead for good, however.
A three pointer from Evans at the 2:26 mark gave the Owls hope and made the score 56-54, but OIT did not score again and the Knights iced the game by hitting 5 of 5 free throws down the stretch.

Coletun Tarr lead all scorers with a season high 19. Tarr was also a menace on defense, tallying four steals.
Stephen Harris added 12 points and 12 rebounds. Moore added a season high 11 points including a pair of three pointers.
Evans dropped in 18 points for Oregon Tech, while Mihajlo Matic hit 5 of 10 three point shots on the way to 15 points.
