Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. – Warner Pacific volleyball kept pace in the Cascade Conference standings with a 3-0 sweep of Evergreen tonight at C.C. Perry Gym. The scores were 25-16, 25-19, 25-20.
The result evens the Knights' record at 4-4 in CCC play, and 10-6 overall. The Geoducks fall to 0-8 in league matches and 0-17 overall.
WP set the tone for the night in set one by jumping out to a 6-0 lead thanks to four service aces from
Amanda Richards. A little later a
Nicole Lisoski kill made the score 10-3 in favor of the Knights and the hosts didn't look back, winning the frame 25-16.
Evergreen managed to forge an early lead in set two at 4-2, and trailed just 17-15 after a pair of aces from K.C. Beadle. Back to back kills from
Rylie Engelson gave Warner Pacific some breathing room however, and four errors from the Geoducks down the stretch allowed WP to claim the set 25-19.
Set three looked to be an easy win for the Knights, as WP took control with a 9-1 run to make the score 21-9. Later, WP had match point at 24-12 but Evergreen scored eight straight points to make it interesting.
Mikaela Lisoski finally pounded home a kill to give the Knights a 25-20 win and secure the victory.
Engelson led all players with 13 kills, and completed another triple-double with 14 assists and 12 digs.
Devan Belshe added 10 kills, while freshman
Mikaela Lisoski had perhaps her best match as a Knight with six kills and no errors.
Marchelle Bostic ran the offense with 24 assists.
Evergreen was paced by Cassidy Watkins with 11 kills and 11 digs, while Sash Nash contributed 24 assists.
