PORTLAND, Ore. – 11th ranked Warner Pacific used a 15 of 28 effort from three point range to ease past Corban University tonight 78-53, at Bart Valentine Court.

The host Knights were particularly accurate from distance in the first period, draining 12 of 18 tries. Marcus Moore had the hot hand for WP, hitting all five of his shots from beyond the arc. Ryan Parks (4 of 5) and Doug Thomas (2 of 3) also got in on the act, helping Warner Pacific to a 46-27 lead at the halftime break. Andrew Evans did his best to keep the Warriors within shouting distance, scoring 11 first half points and passing for three assists.

Warner Pacific continued to stymie the Warriors with their zone defense, and found enough success on the offensive end to eventually stretch their lead to as many as 28 points (71-43) on a jumper in the paint by Garrett Strasburg with 6:49 left. Corban scored seven straight to close within 21 at that point, but could draw no closer.

Evans finished with 13 points to lead Corban, while Jacob Kopra and Josiah Sebens added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Doug Thomas scored a game high 18 points to lead the Knights. Moore finished with a season high 17 points off the bench, all in the first half. Stephen Harris grabbed a game high 10 rebounds.

With the result, Corban falls to 6-10 overall and 2-6 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play. Meanwhile, Warner Pacific improves to 16-4 overall and 7-1 in conference action.
