Box Score KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Warner Pacific ran into another hot-shooting team as Oregon Tech connected on 13 shots from beyond the arch to claim a 90-82 victory over the sixth-ranked Knights in Cascade Conference men's basketball action tonight at Danny Miles Court.
Oregon Tech moves to 13-12 overall and 4-9 in conference action, while WPC fell to 18-6 on the season and 9-3 in the CCC standings.
The duo of David Clarke and Brandon Bautista made the Knight defense pay as they combined to hit 9-of-12 shots from long range. Clarke finished with 22 and Bautista 21 in the win for the Owls. Derek Evans added 13 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds and Josh Johnson 10 point. Bautista handed out 6 assists and grabbed 4 boards.
The Owls as a team made 13 of 28 tries from three point range, while WPC struggled and made just 4 of 25 attempts.
Warner Pacific rallied from a 15 point deficit in the first period to trail by just three (36-33 at the break). In the second period, the Knights managed to tie the game at 42-42 with 17:36 showing on the clock, but a Bautista trey put the Owls back in front for good. WP made one last surge in the closing moments.
Coletun Tarr converted on a fast break dunk to bring the Knights within two, but another three pointer from Bautista kept OIT in front.
Stephen Harris recorded the games only double-double with 23 points and 14 rebounds. Harris finished 7-for-13 from the floor and 9-of-12 at the charity stripe for the Knights.
Doug Thomas followed with 16 points and
Marcus Moore 13 in the loss for WPC.
