Box Score EUGENE, Ore. – For the fourth straight match, Northwest Christian and Warner Pacific went to five sets on Saturday afternoon and for the third consecutive meeting it was NCU on the winning end, 25-22, 15-25, 27-29, 25-17, 15-13. The win helped NCU remain in fifth place, keeping pace just behind the idle Southern Oregon in fourth.
Warner Pacific (4-17, 1-10) once again came to play against the Beacons, using nine aces and an 11-4 advantage in blocks to keep the match close throughout the afternoon.
Julia Toscano did the bulk of the heavy lifting, collecting 18 kills and 15 digs.
Marchelle Bostic also registered a double-double as she posted a match-high 50 assists along with 14 digs and a match-high 3 service aces. She was also one of three Knights to finish the night with five blocks along with
Kristina Naff and
Mikaela Lisoski. Lisoski also put down 13 kills.
Brandy Velasquez collected 27 digs and
Kelsey Merritt added 14.
For NCU, Fetters finished with a team-high 15 kills, adding 13 digs and two aces. Chandler Gabrio added 14 kills and two blocks as she hit .357 to lead all attackers. Alyssa Dorr ran an effective offense in picking up the victory, distributing at least 28 sets to five different players before posting a career-best 49 assists.
