Knights Fall in Straight Sets to C of I

Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. - Warner Pacific fell in straight sets tonight at home versus College of Idaho (25-14, 25-18, 25-10).

The visiting Coyotes (7-8, 7-2 CCC) used their size advantage to the fullest over the course of the match, putting up 11 total blocks as a team and forcing the Knights into 27 hitting errors.

Warner Pacific (4-15, 1-8 CCC) was plagued by slow starts in all three sets. Falling behind 6-0 in set one, WP could only get as close as 9-5 before the Yotes pulled away.

The deficit in set two reached 21-9 before the Knights enjoyed their best stretch of the match. WP ran off seven straight points behind two kills from Julia Toscano to draw within 21-15, but a pair of hitting errors and kills from Elisa Brochado and Liz Myers gave the frame to College of Idaho.

Set three belonged to C of I thanks to some skillful serving from Cheyan Coburn. C of I scored nine of their 25 points with Coburn at the service line, while the Knights only managed to hit for five kills in the frame.

Mikaela Lisoski led WP with nine kills for the match, while Toscano added six. Kelsey Merritt led the Knight defense with 11 digs. Marchelle Bostic had 21 assists.

C of I was led by Sofia Anxho with 10 kills. Liz Myers had eight kills without an error, while adding two solo blocks and six block assists.
