EUGENE, Ore. - With the playoffs out of reach, Warner Pacific was playing for pride at Northwest Christian yesterday and the result was a 1-1 tie to wrap up the season.
The draw put the Knight's record at 3-8-1 for the year and 2-6-1 in Cascade Conference play.
It was Warner Pacific who got on the board first, scoring in the 19th minute when Roxana Gomez found the ball off a corner kick from Hannah Millhollen and fired home a ten-yard strike.
NCU responded quickly in the 24th minute when Maddi Bartholomew hit home an empty-net strike. A combo pass from Mishayla Bertelsen and Stevie Harrison had drawn out WPC keeper Allie Holterman, giving Bartholomew the easy look at the net for her second goal of the season.
The sides then settled into a scoreless battle for the rest of the game, including two overtme periods.
Holterman finished the night with four saves while NCU keeper Kristin Fulbright registered three saves to finish off the season.
