Knights Own the Paint in Win at New Hope

Box Score EUGENE, Ore. - Warner Pacific used their size advantage to gain a big rebounding edge over New Hope Christian and cruise to a 93-64 win in Eugene last night.

The Knights (5-8) won the rebounding battle 58-25, which included 21 on the offensive end leading to 26 second chance points. Sean Gaines was the main culprit, grabbing a game high 13 rebounds and scoring a season high 22 points.

A pair of three pointers from Ryan Parks set the tone early, allowing WP to build a 25-9 lead before the first period was half over. The gap reached as many as 31 before the break as the Knights shot nearly 60 percent from the floor.

The second half was more competitive as New Hope (3-12) managed to find some scoring opportunities behind the long range shooting of Nic Dillingham, who finished 5 of 10 from behind the arc. Warner Pacific continued to dominate the painted area however, and extended their lead to a maximum of 37 points (81-44).

In addition to 22 points from Gaines, WP received 15 points from both Doug Thomas and Michael Hall. Ryan Parks chipped in with 13 points, while Josh Black passed for eight assists.

Dillingham finished with 17 points for the Deacons. TJ Little added 16 points and seven assists.

COMING UP: Warner Pacific will resume Cascade Confernece play on Saturday, December 21 by hosting rival Concordia at 7:30 pm.
