#20 Cavs Power Past Warner Pacific

Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. - Concordia lived up to its #20 ranking with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-17) sweep of Warner Pacific tonight at C.C. Perry Gym.

The visiting Cavaliers (14-2, 7-0 CCC) remained undefeated in Cascade Conference play, while the Knights fell to 4-13 overall and 1-6 in CCC contests.

Concordia jumped out to a 13-3 lead in set one and never trailed. WP fought back to close the gap to 19-16 on a kill from Rachel Warick, but a pair of kills from both Jackie Stein and Amanda Goringe pushed CU to the 25-19 win.

Set two was close until Concordia used an 8-0 run to stretch their 13-11 advantage out to a 21-11 lead. WP could not recover and the Cavs cruised to the 25-14 win.

Coming out of the break, Warner Pacific built a slim 5-4 lead after another Warick kill, but the Cavs again went on a run and scored six straight points to take control of the frame. The Knights could only draw as close as 20-14 before conceding the set 25-17.

CU's Jackie Stein led all players with 11 kills versus just two errors. The Cavs showed their depth as four other players scored at five kills or more. Shantel Gritsch added a match high 18 digs.

Julia Toscano led Warner Pacific with nine kills, while Warick and Mikaela Lisoski added eight kills each. Marchelle Bostic touched up a match high 32 assists.
