Box Score KIRKLAND, Wash. - Northwest University held on in overtime to edge Warner Pacific, 71-70, at the NU Pavillion tonight in CCC men's basketball action.
Warner Pacific had the final possession of overtime with 10 seconds on the clock to conjure a game winning shot. With time running down the ball was batted from the key out near half court where a final shot attempt was blocked.
The result damages WP's hopes to host a playoff game as the Knights slide back to 6th place in the CCC with three games to play.
Michael Russo led Northwest U (18-9, 9-7 CCC) with 18 points and Nemanja Grujicic scoring 16 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Senior Ryan McIntosh contributed 13 points.
Sean Gaines led Warner Pacific (14-13, 8-7 CCC) with a game high 23 points and 7 rebounds.
Ryan Parks dropped in 16 hitting 4 of 6 from the 3-point line.
Michael Hall added 10 points. WPC shot 43% for the night.
Josh Black passed for a career high 12 assists in the loss.
