#15 SOU Defeats Warner Pacific in Three

Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. - 15th Ranked Southern Oregon fought off a set one challenge, then finished off the sweep of Warner Pacific tonight in Cascade Conference volleyball action.

The Basics

 Score: Southern Oregon 3, Warner Pacific 0 (27-25, 25-13, 25-15)
 Records: SOU (10-2, 4-0 CCC), WPC (4-6, 2-3 CCC)
 Location: C.C. Perry Gym, Portland, Ore.
 The Short Story: Southern Oregon lived up to their ranking with a straight set sweep over Warner Pacific tonight in Portland.The Knights were able to put a scare into the Raiders in set one but SOU's high powered offense won the day. The visitors attacked at a .386 percentage compared to .139 for WPC.

How It Happened

The Knights were determined to make it a match and led 17-12 in the first set.
Set one looked to be stolen by WPC as the Knights led 25-24 and were serving for the win.
Two errors and a service ace gave the set to SOU however.
The Raiders methodically wore down WP in set two while building a 20-10 lead.
Nine of the last 12 points of the set were won by SOU thanks in part to five hitting errors form Warner Pacific. 
Set three was much the same with the Raiders slowly pulling away.
• Paulla Pinheiro was the focal point for SOU, putting down seven of her 14 kills in the frame.

Notable

• 
Motade Atanda added 13 kills on the night for SOU, while Lauren McGowne had 35 assists.
• Devan Belshe swung for a season high 10 kills for Warner Pacific.
• Hannah Wright made her first appearance of the year for WPC, contributing five assists.
