Knights Scorch Nets in Win Over C of I

PORTLAND, Ore. – Warner Pacific found their shooting touch in a 77-61 victory over College of Idaho tonight, breaking a three game losing streak in the process.

The Basics

Score: Warner Pacific 77, College of Idaho 61
 Records: WPC (10-14, 3-9 CCC), COI (6-16, 5-8 CCC)
Location: C.C. Perry Gym, Portland, Ore.
The Short Story: A day after struggling from the field in a disapointing loss, Warner Pacific torched the nets for a season best 52.9 percentage during a Cascade Conference win over College of Idaho. The WP offense was clicking as the Knights passed for 26 assists on their 27 made field goals. On the other hand, the visiting Yotes had trouble with the zone defense from WPC and tried to shoot over the top but hit just five of their 24 attempts from behind the three point line. Lindsay Loe led all scorers with 19 points on 8 of 11 shooting. Elisha Hensey and Aleah Lowber tossed in 17 each for the Yotes.

How it Happened

• WP sprinted out of the gate, as Daesha Jackson hit a pair of treys in a 28-8 run start the contest.
• The Lady Yotes answered with a 13-2 run of their own as Lowber hit two 3-pointers to bring the visitors back to within nine points (30-21).
• After Jordan Wilcox drained a three pointer, WPC took a 41-29 lead into halftime.
• The Knights continued to play well into the second half, and led by 15 points (50-35) after five minutes had passed.
• Hensey scored 11 points during a Yote surge that cut the Knight lead down to 59-52.
• WPC recovered thanks to back-to-back Brett Larson baskets and a Lorena Torres trey which extended the lead back to 69-54.

Notable

• Warner Pacific has shot over 50 percent just one other time this season - 12/12/14 vs Multnomah.
