Knights Win 3rd Straight, Sweep New Hope

PORTLAND, Ore. - Warner Pacific won their third straight match with a 3-0 sweep of New Hope Christian in a non-conference contest inside C.C. Perry Gym   

The Basics

• Score: Warner Pacific 3, New Hope Christian 0 (25-8, 25-18, 25-9)
• Records: WPC (7-9), NHCC (2-16)
• Location: C.C. Perry Gym, Portland, Ore.
• The Short Story: Warner Pacific held New Hope Christian to just 18 kills and a .059 hitting percentage during a straight set win in Portland. Nicole Kincaide and Grace Rivers led the Knights with 9 kills each, while Kealia Rosa touched up 33 assists.

How it Happened

• WP took control of set one with tough serving, as the New Hope back line had trouble getting passes to their setter.
• The Knights took a commanding 18-6 lead after a Kincaide kill, then scored the final nine points of the set behind the serving of Brandy Velasquez.
• NHCC found their footing in set two, and took advantage of four consecutive errors from WPC to take a 19-17 lead.
• A kill from Alyssa Neal restored order for the Knights, who then reeled off eight straight points to win the frame.
• Any chance for New hope to extend the match was quickly put to rest thanks to a 7-0 run that put WPC ahead 16-5 in set three.
• WP went on the win the set 25-12 and improve their record to 7-9 this season.

Notable

• Janessa White added seven kills to her career total, moving over 500 kills for her career (505).
