PORTLAND – Four Knight players scored in double figures to send Warner Pacific past Linfield tonight, 60-50, in women's basketball action.
In the final non-conference game for both teams, Warner Pacific defeated Linfield 60-50 in Portland. After the sides traded the lead a couple times in the 1st quarter, the Knights took the lead for good on a
Kendra Preuninger three pointer.
Though they controlled much of the action, WP never put away a scrappy Wildcat squad.
WPC led by as many as 12 points in the 3rd quarter, but watched the visiting Wildcats draw to within four points (50-46) with 4:25 to play. The host Knights closed the game with a 10-4 run to earn the win and move to 9-1 on the season. Linfield drops to 7-4.
Daesha Jackson led WPC with 12 points, while
Taylor Howlett tossed in 10 including a pair of clutch three pointers in the 4th quarter.
Linfield was paced by Quincy Gibson with 11 points, and a game high eight rebounds from Jessica McMillan.
