Knights, Argos Remain Deadlocked After Two Overtimes

PORTLAND, Ore. - A late start on a cold night resulted in little offense during a CCC women's soccer clash between Great Falls and Warner Pacific on Saturday night.

The Basics

• Score: Warner Pacific 0, Great Falls 0
• Records: WPC (1-5-3, 0-3-1 CCC), UGF (3-2-2, 1-2-1 CCC)
• Location: Damazo Field, Portland, Ore.
• The Short Story: 110 minutes of play was not enough time to decide a winner in a 0-0 tie between the visiting Argos and host Knights in Portland. WP's Mariah Liebert and UGF's Kayla Gray were credited with goalkeeper shutouts.  

How it Happened

• Warner Pacific started brightly, holding possession and earning several free kicks within striking distance. 
• The Argo defense held firm, and UGF began to win the ball in the midfield area with more purpose closer to halftime.
• After the break, WP threatened to score with several runs into the final third which generated four corner kicks.
• The finishing touch never materialized however, and the teams headed to extra time.
• The Knights generated two shots on goal and another corner kick during the overtime periods, but no game winner was to be found.
