Knights Dominate Glass During Win Over Multnomah

PORTLAND, Ore. - Warner Pacific used a commanding advantage in rebounding to defeat Multnomah University tonight, 69-46, in Cascade Conference play.

The Short Story

The Knights enjoyed a 45 to 22 advantage in rebounds, including a 20 to 2 discrepancy on the offensive end on the way to a comfortable victory over cross-town rival Multnomah. The effort on the glass led to 22 second chance points for Warner Pacific.

The visiting Lions gave WP some trouble early by frustrating the Knight shooters and trailed just 14-13 after the first quarter. WPC overcame their cold start began to find open looks in the 2nd period. Three quick baskets by the Knights at the beginning of the 3rd quarter set the tone for the rest of the game, and the gap reached as many as 27 points.

Preuninger finished with 13 points to lead all scorers. Amari Hampton returned from injury to toss in 10 points and grab seven rebounds.

iranda Schmillen slashed to the rim for 12 points to lead the Lions, and Lexi Govert added eight points.
