PORTLAND, Ore. - Rocky Mountain maintained their spot atop the CCC standings with a 3-0 win over Warner Pacific on senior night for the Knights.
WPC took a pragmatic approach, keeping their defensive shape and forcing the visiting Bears to try for goal from distance. Goalkeeper
Erdal Barkay turned away seven shots in the first half for the Knights.Â
Rocky was able to sneak a goal from a corner kick that was tapped in by Luca Wiechers in the 40th minute.
The Bears were more patient in the second half, and tacked on two more goals on just five attempts.Â
The Knights were able to get forward for counter attacks on several occasions, but could only muster three shots as the Bear defense was up to the challenge.
Lone senior
Johannes Reiber was honored before the game for his contributions to the Knight soccer program.
