PORTLAND, Ore. – Warner Pacific volleyball was unable to derail Eastern Oregon in Portland today, falling in straight sets to the #7 ranked Mountaineers.

The Short Story: The host Knights threw everything they had at EOU, putting down 34 kills as a team on 111 total attacks. The Mountaineers were solid defensively however, led by a match high 19 digs from Holli Mullins.
Janessa Mast (13 kills) and
Janessa White (11 kills) paced the home team, but WPC fell to 6-9 in CCC play with the result. EOU kept their grip on the CCC title race by improving to 15-1 in league play. Kasaundra Tuma swung for 14 kills while committing just one error to lead EOU
How it Happened
• EOU set the tone in set one, quickly jumping out to a 6-1 lead.
• The Knights rallied to make the score 8-7, but the Mounties scored 12 of the next 14 points to win going away.
• Set two was a battle as the knights took an 8-4 lead, then later led 14-12 after a kill by White.
• The visitors methodically crept back into the set and tied the score at 22-22. Two kills from Megan Bunn and a block at the net gave the frame to EOU.
• WPC continued to fight in set three, but Eastern Oregon slowly took control and led 18-11 after a service ace from Bunn.
• The Knights could only trade sideouts with EOU the rest of the way and dropped set three 25-17.
