SALEM, Ore. - Still very much in the playoff hunt, Warner Pacific headed to Salem hoping to upset a #22 ranked Corban squad. The Knights were turned back in straight sets instead, and their post-season fate is still unknown.
After a forgettable set one, the Knights were nearly up to the challenge in set two. Corban held a small lead for most of the frame, but WPC closed the gap to within 22-21 after a solo block from M'Kailah Redden. The Warriors reeled off three straight points, however and took a 2-0 lead in the match.
Set three was also close, as the teams battled to a 19-19 tie. Corban scored four consecutive points to seemingly take control, only to see the Knights battle back with three straight winners of their own.
Kealia Rosa served over an ace to make the score 24-23, but the home team finished off the match with a kill from Alaina Gentili.
Janessa White led the Knights with 14 kills for the match, while Rosa touched up 27 assists.
WPC will try to improve their playoff chances tomorrow afternoon at Northwest Christian, a team that is one game in front of the Knights in the CCC standings.
