PORTLAND, Ore. – Warner Pacific used a balanced scoring attack to stop Walla Walla 87-64, tonight at Bart Valentine Court. Eleven players put points on the board as the Knights evened their Cascade Conference record at 2-2.
WPC (5-4, 2-2 CCC) scored the first six points of the game and never trailed.
Bryce White put in a layup at the 11:28 mark to give the Knights a 25-11 lead and the route looked to be in full swing.
The visiting Wolves (1-9, 0-4 CCC) did not give up and went on a 9-2 run to get back in the game. The rally was short-lived however, and after
Collin Malcolm hit his second three pointer of the half the Knights led 43-25. WP would take that 18 point advantage into halftime.
The second half was more of the same, as WP stretched out the lead to as many as 32 points. WWU got hot toward the end of the game, with Spencer Woodsworth draining a pair of treys to help the Wolves cut the final margin.
White led all scorers with 15 points, making 11 of 13 free throw attempts.
Collin Malcolm has become a double-double machine, contributing 14 points and 10 rebounds for his 5th in row.
WWU was led by Alec Calloway with 14 points and six rebounds.
