PORTLAND, Ore. – Carroll College won their fourth straight match to open the 2016 season with a 3-1 victory over Warner Pacific. With temperatures pushing triple digits inside C.C. Perry Gym, the Saints held off a spirited challenge from the Knights who were playing in their season opener.
The visiting Saints swung for three more kills than WPC during the match (56 to 53), and committed seven less hitting errors (19 to 26) to claim the non-conference win.
Brielle Bumgarner led Carroll with 15 kills versus just one error, while Natalie Kassa anchored the defense with 15 digs.
The host Knights received a match high 20 kills from
Janessa Mast in her debut for WPC, and
Janessa White added 16 winners.
Kealia Rosa led all players with 46 assists.
