PORTLAND, Ore. – 14th ranked Eastern Oregon rallied from a two set deficit to defeat Warner Pacific tonight in CCC play.
After winning sets one and two comfortably 25-17 and 25-18, Warner Pacific nearly pulled off the upset sweep as they led 24-22 in the third set, needing just one point to clinch the match. The Mountaineers stunned the Knights with two kills and two blocks to steal the frame.
EOU began to impose their will at the net as the match wore on, and finished with 14 team blocks which boosted the visitors to a 25-19 win in set four. Eastern then swung for 10 kills versus no errors in the deciding set to escape with the match victory.
Janessa Mast swung for a career high 31 kills for the host Knights along with adding 12 digs to her outstanding night. Melisa Lujca contributed a season high 14 kills, while
Kealia Rosa set the table with 52 assists.
Madisen Garlie led EOU with 13 kills. After recording 10 kills for the match, Amanda Miller set the EOU career kills record.
