ASHLAND, Ore. - Southern Oregon tied the game at the second half buzzer, then outscored Warner Pacific 12-8 in the overtime period to defeat the Knights 104-98 in Ashland.
With three-tenths of a second left in regulation and the WPC leading 86-84, the host Raiders ran a baseline out-of-bounds play for Matt Boudreaux, who streaked in from the 3-point line got a pass 8 feet from the basket and pushed it with two hands – picture a leaping volleyball setter – off the backboard and in for the tie.
It spoiled spectacular performances by WPC's
Xavier Cannefax, who recorded 24 points and 10-of-16 shooting with six rebounds and five assists, and
Keaton Bankofier, who went 9-of-14 with four 3-pointers to record 24 points, six rebounds and three blocks.
