PORTLAND, Ore. - An golden goal from Angel Trejo-Delgado gave The Evergreen State College a 1-0 win over Warner Pacific College today at Damazo Field.
Six minutes into the first overtime session, Martin Ramirez sent in a long, looping cross to the far post that Trejo-Delgado latched onto and poked home for the winning score.
The goal was just about the only real chance that either team had in the game. The host Knights out shot the Geoducks 9-5 for the game, but no WP attempt was much trouble for Evergreen keeper Ben Stevenson. Conversely, none of the Greener's tries troubled WP's
Erdal Barkay.
Both teams finished with 10 players on the field, as Evergreen's Ryan Mulnick was shown straight red for a rough challenge in the 61st minute, while
Julian Hassel from WPC received his second yellow card in the 66th minute.
Evergreen improved to 2-2-2 overall and 1-1-1 in CCC play. The game was Warner Pacific's first of the season.
