PORTLAND, Ore. – University of Providence eased past Warner Pacific, 4-0 in Cascade Conference men's soccer action today at a rainy Damazo Field.
The visiting Argos (4-2,3-2 CCC) went ahead early, as Christopher Bisbo tapped in a goal in the 4th minute. Providence continued to apply pressure for the next half hour but the host Knights settled in, generated two corner kicks, and earned a penalty kick in the 33rd minute.
Harry Pilkington could not convert for the Knights as Marc Girones made the save.
The Knights (0-3, 0-3 CCC) had another chance to tie the game just as the second half started, but
Kingsley Armah's drive hit the crossbar. With the needed goal remaining elusive for WPC, Providence pounced on a poor back pass by the Knight defense in the 51st minute, then George Holloway headed home two minutes later to put the game effectively away.
Holloway added a fourth goal in the 64th minute to complete the scoring.
