PORTLAND, Ore. - The defense of Warner Pacific didn't offer much resistance in a lopsided loss to Linfield College tonight in Portland.
The visiting Wildcats capitalized on nearly every WPC mistake and scored four goals in each half on the way to the 8-2 win. Emma Smith and Sami Moellmer put in two goals each, as Linfield needed just 15 shots to tally the eight counters.
The host Knights actually finished the game with more shots taken (18), but Linfield's Sarah Bailey made eight saves to keep WPC at bay.
Ashley Giesbers scored her third goal of the season for WP, drilling a volley into the net which cut the Wildcat lead briefly to 2-1.
Staci Tatum posted the Knights other goal on a penalty kick in the second half.
