PORTLAND, Ore. – Northwest Christian used a strong first half and dominance on the glass to upend Warner Pacific tonight in Portland.
NCU's Anamaria Virjoghe muscled inside for 19 points on 9 of 11 shooting, while her teammate Morgan McKinney added 17 points in the win.
The host Knights cut a 16 point halftime deficit down to eight (54-46) early in the 4th quarter, but the Beacons held off the challenge with timely baskets.
Bailey Allen led the second half charge with 19 points – 14 of which came after halftime.
Deepika Kapil added 11 points and five rebounds.
Katerina Brejchova grabbed 15 rebounds for NCU, helping the Beacons to a 47-28 advantage in that statistic.
