PORTLAND, Ore. - The 2018-19 version of Warner Pacific Basketball opened their season with a 80-62 win over Camosun College today at Bart Valentine Court.
Collin Malcolm scored 24 points and made 10 of 12 shots from the floor to pace the Knights, helping the team as a group to score at a 57.4 percent clip.
WPU found headway in the paint offensively, and used their size advantage to win the rebounding battle 41-28.
Ty Cleland led the Chargers from Canada with 13 points.
"It was a good for us to get out on the court, and Camosun challenged us in some different ways," said coach
Jared Valentine. "We have a lot of new players that we are trying to integrate, so there are plenty of things we need to address. We did enough good things to get the win, and now we can head into a new week of practice with a plan to improve."Â
