PORTLAND, Ore. – Warner Pacific took Corban to five sets today at C.C. Perry Gym, but came up short in the deciding set to the visiting Warriors in CCC action.
Corban (12-8, 8-3 CCC) took the first two sets with relative ease and looked to register the sweep. WPU (5-12, 4-8 CCC) stormed back to win sets 3 and 4, but fell in the final set 15-10 as Corban came up with key plays when needed.
Cassie Cunningham led the victors with 15 kills and 3 blocks.
WPU received 13 kills from
Lauren Tennyson and 12 from
Melisa Ljuca.
Both teams were aggressive from the service line. The Knights fired over 10 aces but committed 12 errors. Corban served for 11 aces and 8 errors.
