TACOMA, Wash. - A three point lead at Pacific Lutheran disappeared in the 3rd quarter, as the Knights fell 78-65 to the Lutes in Tacoma today.
The first half was a close, featuring five tie scores and 11 lead changes. The Warner Pacific ladies grabbed a small advantage (32-29) heading into the locker rooms thanks to a layup from
Maryah Tipping in the closing minute.
The 3rd quarter belonged to the host Lutes, who outscored WPU 20-12 in the period to take control. PLU then extended their advantage out to as much as 17 points in the 4th quarter, taking advantage of Knight turnovers. Three pointers from
Grace Prom and
Katelyn Rossback were part of a last ditch effort by WP that cut the gap to 9 points (74-65), but it was too little, too late.  Â
Prom finished the game with a team high 11 points. After pouring in 32 points in a loss at Puget Sound on Friday,
Gabriella Bruno added 10 points versus PLU.
