Knights Survive in Overtime

KIRKLAND, Wash. – It took an extra five minutes, but Warner Pacific edged Northwest University 89-86 on Saturday night to win their second CCC game in as many tries.

It was a hard fought game that was close throughout, but WP managed to build a 74-63 lead with 1:23 to play. The host Eagles mounted a furious comeback, scoring on four straight possessions and taking advantage of missed free throws from the Knights. Jase Paulsen hit a three-pointer with eight seconds left to tie the game up and force overtime.

Khiry Williams and Collin Malcolm scored four points each in overtime, and the Knights dodged a game tying three pointer from Northwest in the closing seconds. Malcolm made a pair of free throws to provide the final margin.

Collin Malcolm finished with a game high 30 points, and Brandon Bell added a season high 20 points.
