CALDWELL, Idaho - A strong effort from the Warner Pacific men's basketball team came up short, as College of Idaho outlasted the Knights, 75-73, in the Cascade Conference Tournament Championship tonight in Caldwell.
The Knights led just once early on at 8-7, then surrendered a 9-0 run to let the Yotes get away.
Trailing 33-27 at halftime, WPU stayed within striking distance throughout the second half. After a three point play from
Xavier Cannefax, the Knights trailed by a single point (69-68) with 1:11 to play, but Talon Pinckney made six-straight free throws inside the final minute lift the College of Idaho to their third Cascade Conference Tournament championship in five seasons.

C of I had five players in double figures, led by Nate Bruneel's 16 points.

The Knights (23-9) got 21 points from
Collin Malcolm and 23 points from Cannefax in the loss.

Both teams will learn their first-round opponent in the NAIA Division II National Championships tomorrow at 4 p.m.
